It shares many of its 728 bird species with Brazil to the south and with Venezuela to the North-West and of course with its two neighbours: Guyana to the west and French Guiana to the east. Suriname is still for the most part covered with unspoiled tropical rainforest. A watershed in the south, covered with savanna and rainforest, separates it from the Amazon Bassin. The west and east frontiers are formed by rivers and to the north is the Atlantic ocean. There are some disputed territories in the south west and the south east.	9
